Italian Food and Wine Festival

I am Italian, so it basically goes without saying that I love food. In good times and in not so good times, food has always been a constant in my life. So, every Sunday, I pay homage to my heritage by making homemade gravy and meatballs. This past Sunday, our guests had the opportunity to celebrate Italian culture at the Vendemmia da Vinci Festival. From couples getting away to families traveling for sports, everyone enjoyed food and wine served up with Italian music and entertainment. Although the weather was unseasonably warm, over 2,000 people attended to support a good cause – our community.

With temperatures so high, it’s hard to believe the calendar says October. As the weather slowly cools off, I look forward to the leaves changing color, carving pumpkins, and the anticipation of the holiday season. This year I am inviting my mom to join me to attend the numerous Fall fairs held in the Brandywine Valley. I think Winterthur’s Annual Delaware Antiques Show in November will be her favorite. Afterwards, I’ll surprise her with a stop at the ChaddsFord Winery for a glass of Spiced Apple Wine – it’s the perfect way to welcome the Fall Season.
