Piano Concert at Longwood

Di Wu, a finalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, performs this Wednesday, July 1st, at 7:30 p.m. in Longwood Garden's Open Air Theater.

The show is one of her first stops in three-year globe-trotting tour. The show is included with the general admission ticke to Longwood.

Shipyard Summer Concert Series

The sounds of live music and family entertainment will return again to the Riverfront this summer as the 2009 Citizens Bank Shipyard Summer Concert series begins on June 25th. This free concert series is held on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. under the colorful cranes at Dravo Plaza which is located on Justison Street along the Wilmington Riverfront area.

Evening Dinner Theater

Spend an evening at the New Candlelight Dinner Theater in Arden, Delaware.

Father's Day Events

Air Force Thunderbirds Perform

On Saturday, June 20th, the Dover Air Force Base will open it's gates for the annual Air Show and Open House.

Base tours, aircraft displays and tours, food vendors and a kids' zone will be available all day with flying acts beginning at noon. The hilight of the day will be the famous Air Force Thunderbirds, who scheduled to perform their amazing air show.

Camelot at Longwood Gardens

Comming up this summer is the Lerner and Loewe masterpiece, Camelot, performed in Longwood Garden's Open Air Theatre. Camelot is based on the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table - and the love triangle between King Arthur, Queen Guenevere, and Sir Lancelot.

The show is being The Brandywiners, Ltd., a local group with a long tradition of artistic excellence and community service through music and theater. Last year's performances of My Fair Lady were a sell-out, as will be Camelot this year.

Tickets are $25 each and include admission to Longwood Gardens.

Performance dates are: July 23, 24, 25, 20, 31 and August 1. Showtime is 8:30pm.

Separation Day

A unique Delaware event takes place in Battery Park in New Castle this Saturday.

Separation Day honors June 15, 1776 - the date when the three lower counties of the Pennsylvainia Colony (which now make up Delaware) separated from England!

There will be a parade starting at 11am with authentic Drum & Bugle Corps, the Avalon String Band, 287 Army National Guart Band and the Citizens House Band.

From 1-6pm look for amuseument rides, games, food, authentic encampments, and face painting. And starting at 6:30pm there will be dancing.

The celebration will be capped at 9:30pm with fireworks.
