Separation Day

A unique Delaware event takes place in Battery Park in New Castle this Saturday.

Separation Day honors June 15, 1776 - the date when the three lower counties of the Pennsylvainia Colony (which now make up Delaware) separated from England!

There will be a parade starting at 11am with authentic Drum & Bugle Corps, the Avalon String Band, 287 Army National Guart Band and the Citizens House Band.

From 1-6pm look for amuseument rides, games, food, authentic encampments, and face painting. And starting at 6:30pm there will be dancing.

The celebration will be capped at 9:30pm with fireworks.
