A Tasteful Evening - Italian Style

Over 100 guests attended the first in our series of A Tasteful Evening wine events last night at the Estate.

The evening began promptly at 5:45pm with the “Art of Tasting” education session, where guests learned about “The 5 S’s” of tasting wine. Guests were able to taste 8 Italian wines that had been carefully chosen to compliment the cuisine being served. Everyone had the opportunity to purchase the wines of the evening at near wholesale prices, with portions of the sales being donated to the Food Bank of Delaware.

Executive Chef James Lauser hosted two culinary demonstrations, both of which were projected on large flat screen TV’s throughout the room, providing everyone a good glimpse of the specific preparation techniques for the dishes. Guests were given take-home recipe cards that focused on some of the Italian themed items being served that evening.

The format of the event was particularly well received by individuals that might not be comfortable "mingling" in a cocktail party environment. Click here to view photos of the event.

Join us on Thursday, March 26th for the next in our series of A Tasteful Evening events, featuring creative cuisine and inspiring wines from the Pacific Northwest.
